Check-in and check-out

When can I check in at the hostel? Can I check in early?

You can check in earliest at 2 PM. If you arrive earlier, you can store your luggage in the hostel's reception desk until the room is ready.

What happens if I arrive outside reception opening hours?

We have a new door code system. You will receive codes for the front door as well as your room well in advance of your arrival. Please note that the code for your room will only be active from 2:00 PM on the day of arrival and will deactivate at 11:00 AM on the day of departure.

When do I have to check out of the hostel?

Check-out should be no later than 11 AM on the day of departure. If you wish to check out later than 11 AM, please contact the reception at latest 10 AM on the day of departure. Please notice that there is limited availability of late departure.

What do I do with the Passenger Card?

You can leave the Passenger Card in the keybox next to the reception desk.

Booking, change and payment

How can I change or cancel a reservation?

If you have booked through Booking.com or another booking channel, changes and cancellations must be made via the same channel

Group or company reservations must be canceled in writing via email.

How do I know if my booking has been canceled?

After you have canceled a booking, we will send a cancellation confirmation to your email. Please also check your inbox and spam folder.

Do I have to pay a fee if I cancel?

If your booking is non-refundable, there won't be any refund if you cancel your booking. If your booking is free cancellation or partially refundable, please check the cancellation policy in the confirmation email.

When will I receive my refund if I have canceled my reservation?

If your booking has been canceled, we will refund you immediately. The process can take between 2 and 10 days and depends on your bank.

When should I pay?

100% advance payment is required for all private bookings. We accept Maestro, Mastercard, Visa, UnionPay, JCB, Diners Club, and American Express cards. You can read about the payment terms in your booking confirmation.

Only companies in Finland can pay by invoice. To be able to send an invoice, we need the following information: the organisations name, registration number (Y-tunnus), contact person, and invoicing address.

How can I pay if I book by phone?

You can pay via a link, which can be found in the booking confirmation. We accept Maestro, Mastercard, Visa, UnionPay, JCB, Diners Club, and American Express cards.

You can also pay with via the MobilePay app. Our code is 95591.

Please note that payment should be made no later than 1 day before arrival. If payment is delayed, the booking will be considered canceled.

Important information (Terms and Conditions)

Our rooms:

Every room has its own bathroom with shower and toilet. If you book an extra mattress for the room, i.e. for a third person, this normally means a mattress on the floor.

The rooms are situated on the 2nd and 3rd floor.

Unfortunately there is no elevator.

Check-in: 14:00 - 16:00
Check-out: 07:00 - 11:00

During high season (summertime) the reception is open every day 08:30-16:00. During low season the reception is open Monday to Friday 08:30-16:00 and is closed on weekends and holidays.

Breakfast: Breakfast is included in the price. During high season, 15.6-15.8, a breakfast buffet is served every day between 07:30-10:00 in the EC Café on floor 1. During low season, a breakfast buffet is served Mon-Fri 07:30-10:00, however, during weekends and other holidays our guests get abundant breakfast packages that they can eat in the shared large kitchen on the 3rd floor.

Please inform us at least 1 day before arrival if you have a special diet.

Cancellation/prepayment: Cancellation and prepayment policies vary according to accommodation type. Group or company reservations must be canceled in writing via email to info@echostel.fi

Child policies: Children of any age are welcome. Cots and extra mattress are subject to availability.

Age restriction: Minimum age requirement for check-in is 18.

Pets: Only assistance dogs are allowed. No others pets allowed.

EC-Hostel accepts these cards and reserves the right to temporarily hold an amount prior to arrival.

Only companies registered in Finland can pay by invoice. We will charge 5 euro for sending an invoice. To be able to send an invoice, we need the following information: organisation's name, Y-tunnus, contact person, OVT code and network invoicing address.
